It’s been a below-average February for Denver snow

DENVER (KDVR) — After a snowy start to the year where Denver International Airport recorded 13 inches of snowfall, things were a little different this month.

According to the National Weather Service, Denver only recorded 4.7 inches of snow in February.

The city typically sees 7.8 inches of total snowfall during the month of February.

Last February, Denver recorded 15.8 inches of snowfall.

Snow totals each month for the 2022-23 season

Here is a look at how much snow has fallen so far each month for the 2022-23 season, which starts in July according to the NWS:

Total as of Feb. 27: 41.6 inches

From July through the month of February, Denver averages around 34.8 inches of total snowfall. That means the city is seeing above-average snow so far this season.

Last season, Denver recorded 49.4 inches of total snowfall.
