DENVER (KDVR) — The morning commute came and went Thursday with light snow in Denver and neighboring cities while those closer to the mountains counted several inches in some cases.

A Pinpoint Weather Alert day was issued for the morning but was dropped at noon as the snow ended for most people.

Thursday was a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day for the early hours as snow and rain fell to fall around the metro.

It’s all snow above 6,000 feet where 1 to 3 inches fell. That area includes the foothills and Palmer Divide. However, it probably clips west of Boulder and Horsetooth.

The Front Range will see highs in the 40s.

The mountains can expect 3 to 8 inches of snowfall. Highs in the mountains will be cold with highs in the 20s and 30s. The weather will be turning drier this afternoon and evening as the storm systems move into southern Colorado.

A hard freeze is possible in Denver overnight on Thursday with temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Skies will be clear throughout the night.
