KIOWA COUNTY, Colo. — A tornado touched down briefly about 10 miles south of Eads on Friday afternoon.
Scott Longmore said the tornado dissipated, but severe weather remained in that region of Colorado’s eastern Plains.
The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office posted photos of the tornado touching down in Eads.
The FOX31 Denver Pinpoint Weather team said the strong thunderstorms were expected as a powerful spring storm system moved into the state Friday.
Rain was expected in metro Denver before turning to snow late Friday into Saturday. A winter storm warning was in effect beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday.
