FREDERICK – Some communities north of Denver got walloped with two back-to-back hail storms Friday afternoon. Frederick and Dacono were among them.
One storm lasted five minutes, the other passed after 15 minutes.
“It was quick. It was really quick,” said Jill Breedlove.
In an effort to save her car from getting pinged, Breedlove ran outside with a king sized comforter and some floor mats and threw them on her vehicle.
“I had to grab something,” she said.
Up the road, Karen Nova felt the effects of the storm also. Literally. She had walnut size bump on her head after getting knocked by large chunks of hail.
Fortunately, there wasn’t a lot of property damage. The biggest victims were the towns’ trees. Leaves are scattered everywhere.
