The storm also forced the evacuation and closure of the Colorado Mills mall.

Hail measuring from 1 to 2 inches in diameter was reported in several areas of the metro area.

At least two vehicles were damaged at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood.

Hail also damaged multiple high-end vehicles at Lakewood dealerships.

Prestige Imports estimates 250 to 300 cars were impacted. Several dozen suffered broken windows or windshields.

Several vehicles were damaged outside Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge.

“Many cars in our parking lots were damaged, some severely. We will try to help our staff and visitors in getting their cars drivable if possible,” Lutheran Medical Center spokeswoman Sarah Ellis said.

The hospital building and some of the medical office buildings suffered broken windows, Ellis said.

“Some nonessential areas are experiencing flooding, including some of our imaging services. No patients have been affected, and there have been no reported injuries.”
