DENVER – Temperatures are taking a tumble on Friday as a cool front from the north brings unseasonably cool weather and much needed rain.
Temperatures in the metro will only reach the low to mid 70s on Friday and Saturday. The average high this time of year is in the upper 80s.
Friday, the chance of showers and storms arrive during the early evening, bringing about 1/3” of rain. We lose that chance of showers for the weekend, but the highs will only stay in the 70s throughout the weekend.
The lows will be in the 50s – possibly 40s in some areas.
That cool air could mean some rain could change over to snow in some of the higher mountain peaks Saturday morning so if you’re headed to the high country – be prepared.
Weather looks good for the Broncos game on Saturday with clear skies as temperatures start around 70 at kickoff and then fall to around 60 by the end of the game.
Slightly warmer temperatures return next week with highs in the mid to low 80s.
