5 things to know about snowstorm, Arctic cold

DENVER (KDVR) — Arctic cold arrived in Denver on Monday afternoon, dropping temperatures rapidly from the 50s into the 20s.

We have issued Pinpoint Weather Alert Days for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here are five things to know about the storm system:

  1. Temperatures dropped rapidly from the 50s Monday afternoon around noon into the 20s by 3 p.m.
  2. Temperatures could stay below freezing until noon on Saturday
  3. Light snow will start Monday night into Tuesday morning and continue until Thursday afternoon
  4. The heaviest snow will occur in the southern mountains, where 2-3 feet of snowfall is possible by Thursday
