Report: Ex-Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow to sign with Philadelphia Eagles

DENVER — Tim Tebow is headed back to the NFL.

The once and future NFL quarterback will sign a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, ESPN reported Sunday.

Tebow, who famously quarterbacked for the Denver Broncos during the thrilling 2011 season, spent last season as a college football analyst with ESPN’s SEC Network. Since he left Denver, the 27-year-old has played for the New York Jets and, briefly, the New England Patriots.

If the report is accurate, Tebow will join a crowded Eagles’ quarterback roster that includes Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley. It also would reunite Tebow and Sanchez, who were teammates in New York. The Eagles traded promising QB Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams in March, after he sat out the second half of the 2014 season with a broken collarbone.

The Eagles went 10-6 in the 2014 season, barely missing the playoffs. They had nine selections to the 2015 Pro Bowl, second only to the Denver Broncos, who had 11.
