PHILADELPHIA — The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team advanced the NCAA championship game with an overtime win Saturday.

It only took four trips in the past five years, but the Pioneers finally reached the title game.

They beat No. 1 Notre Dame at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday.

It was an emotional roller coaster as Denver blew a four-goal lead before going to overtime and winning, 11-10.

For the first time, the Pioneers will play in the national title game.

DU will play Maryland at 11 a.m. MDT Monday.
