DENVER — It would be a match made in superstar Heaven.

According to online reports, pop singer Katy Perry’s parents, both evangelical ministers, would like to see their daughter dating Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, perhaps the nation’s leading evangelical figure.

Perry, 27, is splitting up with comedian Russell Brand, 36, who filed for divorce last month.

A source told OK! Magazine that Perry “mentioned on more than one occasion how much she likes Tim.”

“Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again,” the source said. “In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter. He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and, above all, a good Christian.”

The source also said Keith and Mary Hudson, Katy’s parents, are trying to arrange for Perry to perform at their church around the same time they book Tebow to speak from the pulpit.

Perry was a Christian pop star before she sexed-up her image with the 2008 hit “I Kissed a Girl.”
