DENVER — The Broncos kicked off a new event Tuesday night and they raised a lot of money for the Food Bank of the Rockies at the same time.
Peyton Manning, Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware were just some of the players who made appearances at the inaugural Taste of the Broncos fundraiser.
“Its been a touching thing for me,” said Ware. “A dollar can feed about 3 kids.”
People paid $200 each, $300 for VIP tickets, to attend the ultimate gourmet tailgate hosted by Broncos players and 30 of Denver’s best restaurants including TAG Restaurant Group.
“It’s a great way to interact with the fans,” said running back Juwan Thompson. “They come out to support us, so it’s always good to give back.”
800 people attended the event and got to see Manning play symphony conductor.
Taste of the Broncos was modeled after the annual Taste of the NFL which also benefits hunger relief.
