DENVER — After the terrorist attack in Paris, the NFL released a statement on public safety for all NFL games on Sunday.

“The safety of our fans, stadium personnel and teams at all NFL games is our priority, and security at our games is robust,” the statement said in part.

The NFL’s security procedures might be more complex than the Broncos playbook. It was designed by the Department of Homeland Security.

“They let us know about it before the season started so we know exactly what you can bring in and what you can’t bring in,” longtime Broncos season-ticket holder Ray Mondragon said.

The league announced there will be increased security and law enforcement presence both inside and outside every NFL stadium.

“I had to move all my stuff into a clear bag but I think it’s kind of nice that the venue is safe,” Broncos fan Wini Weiner said.

Some fans had to switch out their personal bags for clear bags provided by stadium staff at the gates.

“It’s a mild inconvenience for me to maybe have to take this bag back to my car but I would rather do that than have something blow up,” Malorie Torrey said.

Other fans saw longer lines than usual at the gates.

“I’d rather not be in a long line, of course, but if we have to sacrifice a little bit I mean this Paris thing was like 9/11 for that country,” Joe Spahn said while waiting in line.

The overall reaction from Broncos fans on Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High: Safety first.

“I’ve always felt safe at the Broncos stadium,” Weiner said. “We’re at Peyton’s house. We’re good.”
