DENVER — Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has made it big. He has a brand new 5-year contract with the team worth about $70 million.
But before we all knew his name, Demaryius Thomas overcame some major obstacles in his childhood to make it to college and into the NFL.
He says his tough childhood made him who he is today.
It started when he was 11, when his mother and grandmother went to prison. He bounced around from home to home, until he landed with his aunt and uncle.
Deborah Takahara spent some time with Thomas. Hear what he has to say in her video report above.
