DENVER — Those looking for Super Bowl tickets should be cautious before making that purchase, especially from unlicensed sellers. Colorado Attorney General  Cynthia H. Coffman raised awareness of the potential fraud Thursday as fans search for tickets on the Internet, particularly Craigslist.

In a statement sent to FOX31 Denver, “Scammers understand the excitement surrounding Super Bowl 50 and will prey on unsuspecting football fans hoping to watch the big game in person,” said Attorney General Coffman. “Before spending your hard-earned money, find out as much about the seller as possible, check the locations of the seats, always use a credit card and know the seller’s refund policy.”

Dozens of websites are listing discounted ticket prices and trip packages to San Francisco. These “discount” sites may be misleading consumers.

The Attorney General suggests that you research ticket sellers at the NATB website http://www.natb.org/ or call their hotline at 630-510-4594.
