DENVER (KDVR) — Football season is here, Broncos Country, and today is the day we get to see what all of the hype from the off-season is about – maybe.

The biggest move in many fans’ minds is the trade for quarterback Russell Wilson from Seattle. The Broncos gave up a lot in that deal though, including tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris and multiple draft picks.

There were also changes in leadership on the field and through the offices.

Nathaniel Hacket was hired to be the team’s new head coach in January, and over the past few months he has brought in other coaches and coordinators across various player groups.

Then there’s the impact of the team’s sale, which was approved by the league earlier this month. No longer is the team owned by the Bowlen family or the trust Pat Bowlen left it to after his death. Now, one of the country’s richest families, the Walton-Penner family, is running the team.

It’s unclear if we will see Russell Wilson take the field tonight though, and many other changes won’t have an immediate impact.

Veteran quarterbacks playing in Week 1 of the preseason is rare, but the team still hasn’t faced an actual since trading for him so this may be a good opportunity to get him reps in a game situation.

You can follow along with live updates below once the game kicks off at 7 p.m. here in Denver.
