DENVER — Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler is featured on a regional cover of this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated.
The headline reads “Brock On! The Broncos (and the rest of the NFL) call for backup.”
After Peyton Manning was benched to recover from a torn ligament in his foot, Osweiler took the role of starting quarterback.
Sunday, Osweiler and the Broncos ended the Patriots’ undefeated season with a 30-24 win at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Sports Illustrated says the issue will look at “25-year-old Osweiler’s emergence from understudy to the leader of a first-place team.”
Along with Colorado, Osweiler’s regional cover will be available in Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
