DENVER — As football fans descend on Denver for this weekend’s AFC Championship game there is plenty of Broncos orange alongside an influx of Patriots red and blue, but no matter who they support businesses are seeing green.

“Everybody is looking for their Broncos stuff,” said Emily Davis, who works at SportsFan on the 16th Street Mall. “And if they’re not looking for their Broncos stuff, they’re in here for Patriots gear.”

Business was great at SportsFan on Friday, thanks to a packed Broncos rally at nearby Larimer Square, but it doesn’t compare to the business they expect this weekend.

“There is not going to be room to walk around in here,” Davis said. “It’s going to be like sardines in here.”

That crowd will be good for business all around Denver, especially downtown.

“Typically a game like this, about $10 million dollars in economic impact,” said Matthew Payne with the Denver Sports Commission. “And that doesn’t actually count the exposure you get nationwide. TV coverage and things like that.”
