BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Colorado football team moved up to No. 9 in the Associated Press rankings on Sunday.

Last week, the Buffaloes were ranked No. 12. CU beat Washington State, 38-24, on Saturday at Folsom Field to improve to 9-2.

This week, the Buffaloes are also ranked No. 9 in the coaches’ poll and No. 9 in Football Writers Association of America ‘Power 16.’

That was the first time since the first week of the 2002 season the Buffaloes have been in the top 10 of major rankings or polls, according to CUBuffs.com.

The Buffaloes play host to Utah at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and it will be on FOX31. If CU wins, it will advance to the Pac-12 Conference championship game against the Washington-Washington State winner.
