It’s perfect for anyone over plastics … and Stanleys
Staying hydrated throughout the day keeps getting more and more complicated. Plastic water bottles are out, because a study recently showed the water inside them can contain up to 100 times more plastic than previously estimated (and when you consume nanoplastics, they can pass through your body tissues, enter your bloodstream and distribute potentially harmful synthetic chemicals throughout your body and into your cells).
Stanley’s viral favorite Quencher tumblers are made of metal, so you’d think those would be safe, but are they? The company recently came under fire when it was revealed they use lead in their manufacturing process, and if the tumblers are damaged, you could be exposed to a lead pellet when drinking from your Stanley.

Why glass is better to drink from
So what is a hydration-craving person to do? Use a glass drinking vessel — and the Mason jar from the Pioneer Woman is an excellent choice. In fact, in a blog post, Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman herself, went so far as to call it “The New Stanley.”
“I can’t think of an item in my kitchen (or around my house) that works its way into my daily life as much as a Mason jar does,” she said. “The quart jars can double as big tumblers for ice water or lemonade. These are so cute/handy! I love them.”
Her glass Mason jar water bottles don’t contain any plastic or lead, and they hold an impressive 32 ounces of water. Oh, and you can get them in a couple of cute colors: teal and clear. What’s not to love?
If you don’t love them, though, there are other glass options as well.
