GEORGETOWN, Colo. — The 61st anniversary of the Hot Rod Hill Climb on Guanella Pass above Georgetown takes place August 14 and 15.

FOX31 Chief Editor Josh Maranhas has a thing for fast cars and eye for photography. The gallery features scenes of some cool, old hot rods and a race on the winding road above Georgetown.

Over 50 “hot rodders” from far and wide roared up Guanella Pass’ twisty switchbacks and paraded back to town for a car show with live music. A road closure due to mountain rescue stopped the afternoon run and a little rain, but nothing dampened their spirits. The celebration of over sixty years of car customization in Colorado was a success.
