Tomorrow is Free Shipping Day, a one-day online event when over 900 retailers will offer free shipping with guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve. The event was created by a small business right here in Northern Colorado and helps shoppers save money on last-minute gifts. Kendal Perez  is here  to share her savings tips for the event.

Review the site & make a list.

The majority of stores that are participating are already on the site, so take the time to see who’s participating and determine you might want to shop with. Make a list of those stores so you know to search for them directly tomorrow so you don’t have to waste time scrolling through the big page of offers.

Review return policies.

Once you know which stores you’re interested in shopping with, read their return policies. If you’re on the fence about a purchase made during Free Shipping Day, the return policy should make or break your decision. If you can get free return shipping or return to a local store, that’s best. If you have to pay return shipping fees, it might be better to purchase the item in-store.

Compare offers.

Some stores will simply waive minimum order requirements while others will offer additional discounts. If the items on your list can be purchased from multiple stores, compare offers and select the one that will save you the most money.

Get the codes and follow the links.

Since this holiday is organized by a small business and not the retailers themselves, some of the codes and special links associated with the offer can only be found on FreeShippingDay.com. Don’t assume you’ll get the offer by going to the retailer’s website first.

Shop tonight!

Because offers go live at 12:01am ET, shoppers here in Colorado can start shopping as early as 10pm tonight. That’s ideal since most of us are working tomorrow and may not have an opportunity to take advantage of the deals.
