BOULDER, Colo. — The woman who camped with two men charged with starting the Cold Springs Fire in July that destroyed eight homes near Nederland has been sentenced to nine months of probation and 36 hours of community service as part of a plea deal.

Elizabeth Burdeshaw, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor second-degree trespassing as part of the deal, The Daily Camera reports.

Court documents said Brudeshaw camped with Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, for several days. Officials said the Alabama men only used rocks to put out a campfire.

The fire burned more than 500 acres.

Kuykendall and Suggs were each charged with one count of fourth-degree arson — endangering people and one count of fourth-degree arson — endangering property. They are scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Kuykendall is being held on $200,000 bond and Suggs is being held on $20,000 bond.

Prosecutors said there was no evidence Burdeshaw was directly involved in maintaining or putting out the campfire.
