Woman who stabbed 79-year-old husband to death found guilty

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A Jefferson County jury found a 71-year-old woman guilty Wednesday for stabbing her 79-year-old husband to death.

First Judicial District Attorney Peter Weir said in a tweet that Sandra Schreiber, 71, was found guilty in the May 2013 death of her husband.

Police found Michael P. Schreiber bleeding from the chest at his home in the 7800 block of W. Ontario Place just before 8:30 a.m. on May 13, 2013.

Officers discovered Sandra suffering from a stab wound as well.

Investigators suspected that Sandra stabbed her husband and her own wound was self-inflicted.

Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 28.
