DENVER — An RTD bus hit a woman at a busy Denver intersection during the middle of the afternoon rush Tuesday.

The accident shut down southbound lanes of Federal Boulevard at Alameda Avenue for two hours as Denver police investigated.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but police said late Tuesday she was expected to survive.

RTD told FOX31 Denver the driver was not cited at the scene, but the police investigation was still ongoing.

The driver submitted to a drug and alcohol test after the accident, which is normal procedure.
