DENVER — A local woman caught a “peeping tom” red-handed at the Victoria Secret store on the 16th Street Mall Friday afternoon.

She said the man reached his phone over the fitting room door, and next thing you know there was a foot-chase down  the mall.

“I felt violated,” said the woman who wanted to remain anonymous. “I felt angry, scared, nervous. How long has he been doing this? What is he going to do with this information?”

What was supposed to be a quick stop shopping during her lunch break, turned into a nightmare.

“I happened to look up and notice there was a phone over the door looking at me,” she recalled as she was trying on bras in the fitting room.

When she tried to stop him, he took off.

“I started yelling at him to stop and he started going faster,” she said. “Finally when he got to the front doors he took off in a full sprint. The manager of the store was running after him. A couple other guys were trying to stop him and he was knocking people over.”

The man got away, and she said when she looked back at the surveillance footage, it was even more shocking.

“It looked like this was not his first rodeo,” she said. “This was not the first time he did this. He doesn’t look at any merchandise, he goes straight back to the fitting room, and he kind of mills around for a moment and you see him taking his phone out getting it ready and as soon as no one is around looking there he goes. Taking his footage.”

She filed a report with Denver Police and Victoria’s Secret.

“I want him caught and I want to fully press charges against him,” she said. “This doesn’t need to happen again to anyone else.”
