DENVER — Officer John Adsit recently took the first step toward putting a horrific accident behind him when he walked out of Porter Adventist Hospital under his own power.

Now, he’s sharing his difficult, inspiring experiences over the past few months.

Adsit had been hospitalized since early December after a car hit him on East Colfax Avenue in Denver as he escorted high school protesters.

The 43-year-old father of four endured more than ten surgeries, making his recovery and ability to walk something many describe as “miraculous.”
