DENVER — Some homes are more tasteful than others. Few are as tasteful as the homes on display at History Colorado in downtown Denver.
The museum partnered up with the Art Institute of Colorado to host the first annual “Historic Gingerbread House Competition.”
The competition features gingerbread structures based off of famous homes and buildings that have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
“We have some really unique buildings,” said Dr. Holly Norton, state archaeologist for History Colorado.
The gingerbread homes were created by students at the Art Institute. They feature such places as: The Molly Brown House, Union Station and the Grant-Humphreys Mansion in Denver (to name a few).
“I think the gingerbread houses are a really traditional aspect of the holidays here in the United States,” Dr. Norton said.
The museum and Art Institute are hoping this competition will become a tradition. But they need your help deciding which gingerbread house is the best.
To vote, head into the lobby of History Colorado, head over to its gingerbread display and cast your vote. Voting continues through January 2, 2017.
