THORNTON, Colo. — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Friday in connection with the shooting deaths of two men outside an apartment building on Thursday night, the Thornton Police Department said.
The boy’s name was not released because he is a minor.
Police responded to a report of a shooting in progress in the 300 block of East 88th Avenue just before 7 p.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, police found two male victims of the shooting outside an apartment building. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the second man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Neither man has been identified and police believe both are adults.
Police said witnesses told them there was a physical altercation before the shooting. Police were interviewing three people of interest Friday morning before announcing the 17-year-old had been taken into custody. Other persons of interest are still being determined, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Area Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
