ANAHEIM, Calif. — Spending the night in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion — it’s either a dream come true or a nightmare, depending on your feelings about ghosts.

For Adam and Bobbie Medina and their children Makeyla and Alexis, it was definitely the former.

After winning a contest, the family entered the Haunted Mansion at midnight and stayed until 6 a.m. Saturday. They described visits from various Disney ghouls, including the legendary hitchhiking ghosts and Beauregard the butler.

Mostly, it was exciting. But Bobbie Medina admitted that the downtime occasionally got creepy.

“There was this pounding heartbeat that just kept thumping,” she said. “And then you’d get squeals of children’s laughter.

“Everybody knows that creepy little children are kind of scary.”
