COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to an interesting call of cows roaming a neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
It happened around 6 a.m. in the 2100 block of Silver Creek Drive in a neighborhood in northern Colorado Springs, next to a large field where a herd of cattle is kept, according to police.
From the herd, seven cows of various ages escaped their pasture and were roaming the neighborhood and grazing, according to police.
Police said this loose herd became startled when approached and would run away or stampede because of the younger cows becoming easily scared.
Officers with no 4-H experience were able to shoo the cows to the dead end of the street and lower the fence so they could return to their field.
No cows were injured.
According to police, Classic Homes, a local home builder, owns the field and is working to secure the fence.
