DENVER — Are you going to be Harley Quinn or the Joker for Halloween? You’re not alone.

Google has updated its “Frightgeist” page for 2016, highlighting the most popular costumes in the nation and giving last-minute planners outfit ideas.

Given the current pop culture landscape, it should come as no surprise that comic book characters are the most popular, according to the Google Trends platform.

Batman villains Harley Quinn and the Joker come in as the most and second-most popular in the country. The recent release of “Suicide Squad” probably has something to do with it.

In Denver, “Star Wars” costumes came in second. But the Mile High City pretty much follows the national trends for most popular costumes this year.

“Superhero” is also trending nationally, so you might see quite a few Avengers, members of the Justice League and likely a Spider-Man or a Doctor Strange out trick-or-treating.

National top five costumes for 2016

  3. Superhero (DC, Marvel heroes)
