‘American Idol’ enters 15th, final season with auditions in Denver

DENVER — It’s been one heck of a ride.  Fourteen song-filled seasons of “American Idol. ” From the early days, with two co-hosts to the famous judge millions loved to hate.  Sorry Simon.

It all boils down to now, the final season, the swan song of one of America’s most successful talent shows.

“There are people trying out for the show now that don’t know television without ‘American Idol. ‘ I mean, that’s a big deal,” senior supervising producer Patrick Lynn said.

And it wouldn’t have been “American Idol” without the contestants.

“They are the lifeblood of this show and the fact that so many of them turn up and come every year, that front of the line crowd, I mean it’s just great.  I never get tired of it.” Lynn said.

“Idol” auditions will be held at the Denver Coliseum on Friday.

“This is it.  If you’ve ever thought about trying out for American Idol this is the time to do it.” Lynn said.
