NEW JERSEY – An 18-year-old woman is reportedly planning to marry her long-lost father and move to New Jersey—where incest between adults isn’t illegal she said, according to New York magazine.
The couple is unnamed throughout this story and the original interview.
After her parents broke up before the woman was born, they didn’t really remain in contact with her father and she only saw him a few times for visitation at a very young age, New York Magazine reported.
The woman and her father were separated for 12 years, reported New York Magazine, they were reunited when the daughter was 17 years old.
Reuniting with long-lost relatives can result in “Genetic Sexual Attraction,” a term coined in the 1980s. For more information about GSA, click here to read an article from The Guardian.
New York magazine reported the woman and her father have been dating for almost two years. She lost her virginity to him just days after reuniting with him, she said in the interview.
She said in the interview, she plans on having children with her father.
When it comes to potential genetic problems, the woman said, “I wouldn’t risk having a kid if I thought it would be harmful. I’ve done my research.”
“Everybody just needs to deal with it,” the woman said regarding incest and possible stigma about her relationship, in the interview with New York Magazine.
