DENVER — Tracks, a popular gay nightclub in downtown Denver, has announced plans to enhance its security during Denver Pride week after the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., early Sunday morning.

Tracks held a candlelight vigil Sunday night in honor of the victims in the attack at Pulse in Orlando that left 49 dead and 53 injured. More than 2,000 members of the Denver LGBTQ community and their allies turned out to show their support at the vigil.

Denver Pridefest is planned for this weekend. Tracks will be holding celebrations on Thursday through Saturday, and will contribute a percentage of its ticket sales to the fund for the victims of the Orlando tragedy.

As Pridefest organizers have announced their plans to amp up security, so too has Tracks. There will be an enhanced security presence to help with the lines, according to an email Tracks issued.

“For over three decades, Tracks has been a safe place where everyone and anyone can be whoever they want to be … and that won’t change this weekend,” Tracks representatives said in their email.

Doors will open at 8 p.m. Thursday, and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
