Toll collection begins on North I-25 Express Lanes

A new switchable pass is needed to use the U.S. 36 Express Lanes beginning July 22.

DENVER — Toll collection on the North I-25 Express Lanes began Tuesday morning, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The toll rates on the express lanes will range in price depending on the time of day.

“For example, on the southbound North I-25 Express Lanes during peak travel times, 7:15-8:15 a.m., the toll rate for drivers with a pass will be $2.25, and the License Plate Toll will be $5.56,” CDOT said in a news release.

“On northbound I-25, between U.S. 36 and 120th Avenue, toll rates from 4:30-6 p.m. will be $3 for drivers with an ExpressToll account and pass and $6.75 for a LPT.”

The complete toll schedule is available on CDOT’s website.

“The North I-25 Express Lanes will provide much-needed relief for congestion on this stretch of I-25,” CDOT said. “The Express Lanes reduce time spent in traffic for not only people in the Express Lanes, but also for people in the general purpose lanes.”
