1. Police arrest armed suspects in SW Denver, say 2-3 still at large

Denver police arrested three people and were looking for several more after a rush-hour chase in the southwest part of the city Tuesday morning. Police said the three arrested were “believed to be involved in a series of robberies over the past 5-6 weeks.”

2. DIA: United Airlines experiencing computer problems, delays possible

United Airlines was in the process of dealing with at least two computer issues Tuesday morning, both of which caused delays for flights at the Denver International Airport.

3. Passengers, crew injured as Denver-Montana flight hits sudden turbulence

Three crew members and “a number” of passengers were injured Monday when a United Airlines flight encountered severe turbulence. The captain declared an emergency on United Flight 1676, which was flying from Denver to Billings, Montana

4. High winds expected across the Front Range Tuesday

A high wind warning was in effect until 10 a.m. for the Foothills and into the mountains, where winds could gust 60-80 mph.  Wind gusts of 30-40 mph are possible in Denver.

5. Nine couples to sue to overturn Colorado’s gay marriage ban

Nine gay couples are expected to file a lawsuit in state court to challenge Amendment 43, Colorado’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, although there is growing uncertainty that the suit will be filed Tuesday as initially indicated by the plaintiffs’ law firm.

6. Family airs pain, anger, heartbreak after 11-year-old killed in hit-and-run

The family of an 11-year-old boy is trying to deal with the tragedy, pain and anger after a hit-and run driver killed him in a busy Denver intersection. Witnesses told police the driver was going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. Some also say he was drag racing.

7. Why gas prices are rising so quickly

Gas price have spike sharply across the Denver Metro area in recent weeks. Experts explain that this happens every year about this time because oil and gas refineries are in their spring maintenance mode.

Telluride Olympian and gold medal winner Gus Kenworthy said he’s been hung up in Sochi an extra day as he awaits approval on his effort to adopt a group of stray puppies and their mother from Russia.

9. Study raises concern about ‘third-hand smoke’ from E-Cigarettes

A new study by shows the vapors from electronic cigarettes leave behind a potentially toxic residue known as “third-hand smoke.” The residue — which also occurs in regular cigarette smoke — clings to clothing, furniture and walls, and it’s nearly impossible to get rid of.

10. Teachers could spank harder under bill pending in Kansas Legislature

A Kansas lawmaker wants to give school teachers and caregivers more power to spank children. It would expand the current law, allowing up to 10 strikes of the hand and smacks hard enough to leave redness and bruising.
