Fort Carson soldier to receive rare Medal of Honor on Monday

In 2009, Staff Sergeant Ty Carter was in Afghanistan when his compound came under fire. For more than six hours, he and 60 others successfully defended their remote outpost against a 300-man attack. For his efforts to fight and save lives during one of the deadliest battles in the Afghan war, the Fort Carson soldier will receive a rare Medal of Honor on Monday.
