1. Suspect accused in stabbing, abduction of fetus in Longmont will not face murder charges

The suspect accused of stabbing a pregnant woman and cutting her fetus out of her womb will not be charged with murder for the baby’s death, according to Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett.

2. State representative won’t apologize for calling baby’s death an ‘act of God’

Facing rising outrage from Democrats and his fellow Republicans, State Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt refused to apologize for his comments on his evangelical YouTube program attributing the death of an unborn child, cut out of a pregnant woman’s stomach, to an act of God.

3. $12 million Colorado-based pot distribution ring busted; 32 face charges

The Colorado Attorney General shut down a Colorado-based marijuana smuggling ring with a massive 67-page indictment. In all, 32 people have been charged with illegal interstate cannabis distribution.

A University of Colorado Denver student says the university is holding her diploma hostage because she refuses to pay for a class she never took.

5. Prosecutors: Germanwings co-pilot had ‘existing illness,’ medical leave note for day of crash

Documents found in the apartment of Germanwings Flight 9525 co-pilot Andreas Lubitz “indicate an existing illness as well as adequate medical treatment thereof,” the Dusseldorf public prosecutor’s office said.

7. Coroner: Man who shot himself in Keystone had eaten large amounts of pot edibles

A 22-year-old man who died after an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound had consumed a “large amount” of marijuana candies immediately before his death, investigators said.

8. Buildings collapse after explosion at New York’s East Village

A fiery blast injured several people after an explosion leveled a structure and a neighboring store in New York’s East Village. At least one person is unaccounted for.

A woman who had her cellphone stolen is being taunted by the alleged thief, who has taken numerous selfies, only for the photos to end up on a Facebook page that syncs with the phone.
