1. Bundle up — it’s still winter

Spring is two days away, but there will be a cold front racing through Denver today that could bring with it strong winds and a chance for light snow.

2. Road troubles in mountains

The storm is causing troubles in the mountains, with Loveland Pass closed and chain laws in effect on I-70.

3. Second fire at a home in a month under investigation

Arson investigators will continue to look into a second fire in a month at a home at 1480 S. Bellaire St. in Denver. The building was vacant, but a family of three escaped the first fire, on Feb. 14.

4. Golden house fire victim ID’d

The man found dead inside a Golden house fire on Saturday had suffered numerous puncture wounds and was identified as William Burchett, a popular musician around metro Denver. He played guitar with the Resonatorz.

5. Man still missing north of Vail

An Indiana man on a hut trip north of Vail since Friday remains missing as rescuers continue their search.

6. Get your brackets ready

March Madness kicks off Tuesday night with two play-in games and the big action begins Thursday, including when CU plays Pittsburgh. But before that, the distraction of filling out a bracket takes place.

7. ‘Take it Home’ deal becoming popular at Denver restaurants

Some restaurants in Denver are offering a “Take it Home” deal in which half of the meal is served while the other half is boxed up to be taken home.

8. Russia, Crimea sign treaty

Russian and Crimean leaders signed a treaty Tuesday to make the territory part of Russia. “In our hearts we know Crimea has always been an inalienable part of Russia,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

9. China claims no terrorism links among Flight 350 passengers

As the hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 350 continues, China said Tuesday it found no terrorism link among the passengers who were on the plane.

10. Military wife pulls surprise for husband

A North Carolina woman surprised her husband by losing more than 100 pounds while he was serving in Afghanistan. “I just sat in bed one night and was like, ‘I can do this,’” she said. “‘I need to do this.’”
