Thousands of documents released related to Arapahoe H.S. shooting investigation

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Arapahoe County released it’s final round of documents late Friday related to the deadly shooting at Arapahoe High School in December 2013.

The release includes 2,300 pages of information from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Reporter Justin Joseph reviewed some of the documents, which showed more evidence of stone-walling on the part of the Littleton Public School District in the months after the shooting.

He reported one document detailed how the district attorney was having trouble getting Arapahoe High School administrators to cooperate in turning over records related to Karl Pierson and the threats he made in the months before the crime. Senior Claire Davis died after Pierson went into the school and shot her.

Files investigators did get were incomplete and in many cases the documentation was “materially lacking.” One administrator blamed as teacher’s laziness for the documentation lacking detail. However, one of the security guards came forward to say they were told not to put anything in writing.
