LITTLETON, Colo. — Thieves have put the future of an annual Boy Scouts camping trip in jeopardy.
Littleton Boy Scout Troop 444 had their trailer stolen filled with $25,000 worth of crucial camping supplies.
The trailer was stored in the parking lot at First Presbyterian Church in Littleton.
It had canvas tents, stand-up cook stoves, pots and pans. The trailer also had a new AED unit and a high-end first aid kit.
Some of the items had no price tag.
“We had a flag that was sent to us by a solider in afghanistan that we fly every campout, ” said Trevor Border, Littleton Boy Scout Troop 444 committee leader. “We can buy a new stove, we can buy a new propane tank, but somebody takes those it hurts.”
The stolen trailer was last seen seven days ago.
When Border came back on Thursday to prepare for a weekend camping trip, it was gone.
“It kind just hit like a rock, something’s bad here,” said Border.
Troop 444 is Littleton’s oldest boy scout troop.
