DENVER — A television commercial from 1970 said “Let your fingers do the walking.”

While the technology has slightly changed, the message remains the same. There are more convenient  ways to shop and still save money, and they call it Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday sales are expected to hit the $3 billion mark for the first time this year, according to WalletHub.com.  It would be the largest one-day sales total in e-commerce history.

Advantages of cyber shopping are convenience, comfort, variety, privacy … privacy, right?

“You do not want to be doing financial transactions on public Wi-Fi. It is not secure. You’re not sure if some of your information can get sabotaged,”  CouponSherpa.com savings expert Kendal Perez said.

She said shop from home, where you are fairly assured you know you have a secured network, “You also want to look for the ‘S’ in ‘https.’ That means you’re tracking from a secured server,” she said.

According to WalletHub.com the top 10 best retailers for Cyber Week are Groupon, Belk, Bon-Ton, JC Penny, Macy’s eBay, Kohl’s Sears, Amazon and K-Mart.
