LOVELAND, Colo. — The task force investigating a series of mystifying shootings, one of them deadly, in northern Colorado is expected to release new information Thursday.
The task force was formed after Windsor cyclist John Jacoby was killed in May. It previously linked his death with the shooting of Milliken woman Cori Romero on Interstate 25 in April
Romero was shot in the neck, while Jacoby was shot and killed while he rode his bike near Windsor.
On June 23, the task force said a person reported they were shot at on the night of June 3 near Denver Avenue and East Eisenhower Boulevard in Loveland. That was about two miles from where Bill Connole was shot and killed at East First Street and St. Louis Avenue later that night. The person shot at was not injured.
The task force has not linked the two Loveland shootings with those of Romero and Jacoby. It also released the sketch of a pickup truck it said is a vehicle of interest to the Loveland shootings based on several interviews and canvasses.
No arrests have been made in the incidents.
The task force brings together investigators with the FBI, the sheriff’s offices of Larimer and Weld counties, and the Windsor and Loveland police departments. It has been spending months following tips, collecting evidence and holding briefings.
