DENVER — A mystery that’s stretched along a Boulder highway since February appears to have been solved after troopers reported seeing a man throwing books onto the road early Thursday morning.

The Colorado State Patrol cited Glenn Pladsen with six counts of littering after a traffic stop.

Troopers believe Pladsen is the same person responsible for spreading 600 books out along the road since February.

“The crews were then forced to pick up the books, over 600, by hand. To date, CDOT has recorded over 20 hours spent clearing the area of books,” said a spokesperson for the state patrol through a press release.

FOX31 Denver reached out to Pladsen by telephone yet he only provided few details about the incident.

“Was there a reason sir? Too many used books in the house,” said Pladsen during a phone interview.

The Arvada resident declined to answer any additional questions and said he expected to share more details with the Longmont Times newspaper.
