DENVER — We’re seeing a very pleasant night as students across the state kick off their spring break.
Karen Fain & Charlotte Mettam just returned from their own spring break.
“We didn’t go for Spring Break, we just went for our first cruise,” the women said.
They embarked on a cruise that included a stop in sometimes crazy Cabo San Lucas.
The best friends from Lakewood planned their trip well in advance with an eye on the calendar.
“Until this week was getting closer and we really didn’t want to be a part of Spring Break,” they said.
But they were and they had plenty of company.
DIA predicts this spring break week will be busier than last winter’s Christmas week.
While some people are heading for the heat, others are heading to Colorado’s high country.
The whole process can be maddening for travelers.
CDOT expects the usual spring break spike in volume on I-70 with weather playing in its favor to keep the roads safe.
