CASTLE ROCK – A silent auction was held in Castle Rock Saturday evening for injured Denver Police Officer John Adsit. Adsit, you’ll recall, was run over by a car while escorting protestors from East High School in December 2014.

A hundred percent of the funds raised at the event will go towards Adsit and his family. Some of the items being auctioned include: an autographed Wes Welker jersey and Rockies memorabilia.

“Castle Rock is a very small town and a quaint community and I think when something like this happens to one of its residents, especially when it’s a hero and police officer – everyone comes together,” said Michelle Shanek, an event organizer.

The silent auction will continue for a few more days online. To bid, head to: www.wedoauctions.net/buie
