EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — More than 50 crew members who have been looking for a missing hiker north of Vail since Friday night have come up empty in their efforts.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said a group of four hikers left Friday morning on a trip to Eiseman Hut.

While taking a break, one of the hikers, James McGrogan, 39, from Chesterton, Ind., continued ahead.

When the rest of the group reached the hut, McGrogan was not there.

McGrogan was carrying a large pack with food, water and medical supplies. He also had a sleeping bag, avalanche beacon, GPS and warm clothing.

The search, which included two helicopters, resume Monday with no success, said deputies with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

If you have information on McGrogan, call the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007.
