LITTLETON, Colo. — On the heels of the Confederate flag coming down at the South Carolina statehouse, sales of the flag are soaring in Colorado.

Despite the controversy, A House of Flags in Littleton isn’t pulling the rebel banner from the showroom floor.

In previous years, the store would sell less than six a month. In recent weeks, 85 confederate flags have been sold.
Owner John Seebeck expects demand for the flag to rise.

“People have thought about getting the Confederate flag, now they’re more urgent to get some some, not knowing what the future will bring,” said Seebeck.

“When this first started, we did order several hundred more flags and we’re going through those very quickly.”

The majority of Seebeck’s buyers purchase in-store, but online sales have also risen.
