ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Englewood police responded to disturbance inside a unit at the Silver Cliff Apartments just after 8 p.m. Sunday, eventually wounding a suspect with gunfire.
Some neighbors said there had been domestic incidents at the apartment in the past few days, including one incident in which a suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at a neighbor and they heard a disturbance tonight.
They said a man yelled just before they heard what they believed to be several gunshots.
Shortly after arriving, two officers opened fire on a 27-year-old suspect.
After the gunshots, they heard him yell again before being taken from the apartment in handcuffs and placed on a stretcher.
The man was transported to Swedish Medical Center and went into surgery.
His condition is unknown at this time.
No officers were injured in the incident.
Police said it’s too early to say whether the suspect was armed or what led to the shooting.
