DENVER — Denver Police were trying to figure out who shot at and struck a juvenile as he was walking through a KeyBank parking lot on Monday afternoon.

Investigators were responding to a traffic stop near the bank, when they saw the victim pleading for help after a bullet grazed his leg.

Detectives spent most of Monday afternoon speaking with witnesses, reviewing bank security footage, and gathering evidence from the business parking lot.

The KeyBank is located at 5250 Leetsdale Drive.  The incident happened shortly after 2 p.m.

The victim’s identity has not been released and investigators do not know the full extent of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Denver Police reported the victim was shot in the leg but the victim is expected to survive. He was reportedly conscious when transported to a nearby hospital.

Parts of Leetsdale were shutdown while authorities investigated the scene.   This incident remained under investigation.
